I am writing in response to the article ("Many with tattoos worry," May 10). All I have to say after reading that is what did that have to do with anything? I am a 32-year-old woman with more than half my body covered in ink. Why should I cover up for anybody?
Just because I choose to adorn myself with body art doesn't make me a bad person. I am a successful woman with numerous college degrees who is heading to Tulane Law School. I have an internship at the state Capitol, a loving husband, who also is covered in tattoos, and am super intelligent. I do not cover up for anyone. If you're afraid of what people think of you then you have problems.
If a company or employer turned me down for a job just because of my body art, then that is a place I would not want to work anyway. Be who you are and be proud of that. If people don't like it, too bad, it's not their body. Save the paper for real and important news. This fluff is just mindless people's opinions who cannot be independent and unique.
