Footballer David Beckham has finally revealed the new tattoo he got from inker-to-the-stars Mark Mahoney in an epic 12-hour session last December. The new masterpiece, which would be more suited to the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, depicts Jesus being carried by three cherubs.

‘”I’ve had it for three months,” said Becks as he revealed the new ink in a video on his Facebook page.
“I don’t plan on having a tattoo. It’s just sometimes I wake up and I think, you know, I’ve got an idea of an image I’d like on me. Some people love tattoos, some people don’t. “It’s just something that I have always found that I kind of express how I’m feeling, or the thoughts that I have or memories.
“Most of my tattoos are memories and things that mean things to me. There’s not one tattoo that I’ve got on me that doesn’t mean something. Of his new ink, he said: “It’s Jesus being carried by three cherubs. And obviously the cherubs are boys – so my thought behind it is that at some point my boys are going to need to look after me and that’s what they’re doing in the picture.”
So Becks is now comparing himself to the Son of God. Remember what happened when John Lennon said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus – didn’t go down too well. Another sign that Becks may have taken one too many footballs to the head is that he thinks his boys will look after him in his old age. My bet is they’ll get him committed to the Home for Deluded Sports Stars and be out spending their inheritance. Becks now has at least 19 tattoos across his body, including extensive works on his arms, chest and back. I’m thinking number 20 will be appearing soon after wife Victoria gives birth to their fourth child later this year.
